How to Get Started in RP

Complete newcomer guide: installing FiveM, finding servers, understanding RP rules (NLR, RDM, VDM, metagaming), basic commands, and etiquette for your first session.

Quick Tips

1

Read server rules thoroughly — most bans happen from not understanding NLR (New Life Rule) or RDM (Random Deathmatch). Every server has slightly different rules.

2

Stay in character always — even when things go wrong. Breaking character ruins immersion for everyone. Use /ooc or designated OOC channels for non-RP talk.

3

Start with a civilian job — don't rush to be a criminal or cop. Learn the server economy, meet people, and build relationships before picking a faction.

4

Use a quality microphone — RP is 90% voice communication. A clear mic with no background noise dramatically improves your RP interactions and reputation.

5

Join the Discord community — server Discords are where whitelisting, events, and community building happen. Being active there helps you get noticed by admins.
